Merry Christmas to All! Big Shot Winner Announced!

Good Morning Everyone!

Just wanted to take a few minutes before we head out for our longest day of the year.  Traditionally this is the day that my hunny and I go to his work Christmas party in the morning - as the kids watch for the arrival of Santa coming down the hall, I find myself smiling because the twinkle in that eye belongs to someone I know and love very much -- my teddy bear. :)   It's always a fun time, and he has such fun doing it!

Afterwards we embark on last minute shopping, and off to date night.  A tradition for the last 16 years as we wait for it to be time to pick up the kids from their maternal grandmother's before taking the long drive back home, often listening to the littlest angel on the way.

However you are celebrating this year, I'd like to wish you all the best.  Thank you for being my ScrapNStamp Pal for another year. A special thanks to those new friends and customers I've met this year.  I look forward to many happy crafting hours with you again this year. :)

And now for the big announcement I promised you all..

Congratulations go out to Carrie White of Prescott who was among those who purchased a Big Shot this month.  You are the winner of my top-note contest!  Please contact me to arrange pick-up or delivery!

Happy Holidays Everyone!   Wishing you all the smiles and happiness your heart can hold!

Tammy

Monday 20 December 2010

It's beginning to look a lot like Chaos!

What's a holiday without a little Chaos, right?

If you're family is anything like mine - the news that Christmas is just a few days away is sitting somewhere loosely between oh-my-gawd-I'm-not-done-yet and we'll get there .. eventually!  Thankfully I've gotten pretty good at planning ahead and squirreling things away here and there, so by this point it's just bits and bites left to finish up the job.

Have been working on swap cards all week, and began updating my blog the other day with the new Valentine's Promotion..   well either the deal was way too hot for my computer, or the idea of discussing Valentines' day before Christmas made it angry with me.  Rebooted after an adobe update, and it wouldn't come back on.

Thankfully my teddy bear is well versed in the ways of the attitudal computer and after only a few days of down time got it back up with only a short hiatus but I'll likely have re place the case on this one sometime soon as there is some weird issue with the power button.

In any case, I wanted to share a couple of cards with you that I made for a Birthday Card Swap among fellow demonstrators.

For the first card, I had an image in my head and decided that I wanted to make the cards more unisex rather than making them pink or flowery.  I just don't find that I often gravitate towards making them and I've been trying to challenge myself each week to use a tool or stamp set I haven't used before or a tool I haven't used in a long time.  This was no exception.  I played with Party Hearty that I only just got as well as a texture embossing folder that I hadn't played with much.

For the second card, I wanted something different - I was going for a simple card that would be easy to reproduce but still elegant enough to be special.  I'd played with ribbon on it a bit but couldn't figure out where to put it in a fashion that made me happy - so I opted for bling and played with the dauber and the shimmer paint, and I just couldn't resist adding a little piece of bling!

Do you find yourself looking through your toys and gravitating towards the same toys over again - take my challenge..  blow the dust off a once loved stamp set or template and see what inspiration comes your way.

I was pretty impressed that with the craft area laid out and on its way to organized just how much easier it's become to sit down and just CREATE.

My hubby moved a shelf downstairs for me at long last so that I can start re-arranging my stamp sets and he built me a database program so that I can finally catalog everything.  In the midst of my frustration of not being able to keep track of all the stamp sets, wheels, dies and such I own anymore that if (Heaven forbid!) anything should happen to any of it that I don't have a record of it all in one place of everything I have (had) to be able to take to insurance or anything. Let me tell you that thought was a tough pill to swallow..  so catalog I must! :)

Watch for the January specials and promotions coming to your inbox over the next couple of days..   The pre-order date for the January Crop is fast approaching - have you booked your spot yet?

It's not too late to order a Gift Certificate for Christmas - I can send your certificate by e-mail if you are pressed for time. Shop my website 24/7 www.iscrapnstamp.stampinup.net or call me if I can be of any help.

I still have a limited number of Christmas and Holiday Cards available for sale - Let me know if you are interested.

Announcing - Temporary Changes to our Starter Kit

I hope that you'll all forgive me for being a bit of a chatterbox this morning (having said that I can already hear several of you saying "this morning?"  LOLs)  - This has been a busy week or so already and I haven't had the chance to devote to my blog as much as I might like, so I'm in a bit of catch-up mode today.  Thanks in advance for your patience.  :)

Since the announcement that our Stampin' Scrubs are unavailable, and we don't know when they will again be available the item has been removed from our Starter kit and replaced with an additional stamp set.

HQ has decided to choose Greenhouse Garden for this replacement, but as always you can modify your kit to put in any stamp set of the same value or less.

We hope that we'll be able to alert you very soon that a solution has been found to the Stampin' Scrub issue, but until then let me know if you need some alternate ideas for cleaning your stamp pads in the meantime.

Cheers!

Tammy

Welcome to Winter..

Well it's certainly winter in Cardinal today!  I keep trying to donate my portion of the snow fall to my little sister in Vancouver -  I think it would be GREAT for her to have snow for Christmas.  If I take up a collection now we might be able to get enough support to make that happen thus year..  ;)

I'm coming up on 36+ hours of awake time at the moment.  It wasn't planned but just  sort of evolved in the middle of a crafting session.  One minute it's 2:30 and I'm thinking I'd better get to bed,  but then I had an idea that I just had to try and the next thing I knew my teddybear was coming done the stairs with the dogs in hot pursuit looking at me in what can only be construed as a what the heck were you thinking face..  Thankfully it turned to more amused when he said "And what do you have to say for yourself "  and I smiled and said "Lookie honey Cards!" and held up a huge freezer bag stuffed wuth cards..  :)  I made 65 cards last night, as well as some 3D projects to add to what I'd collected to sell at the Craft Fair today..     Some where cards that I

The show was very well attended by both vendors and holiday shoppers. A few familiar faces stopped by to say hi as well as a few lades who had only talked to me about Stampin' up via email or on FB for quite some time so it was really great to finally meet them face to face.  Got to indulge in a few really good chats with local crafty ladies (sorry guess the guys were too quiet.. LOL  )  Even got a few new catalogs to take a wander through between now and Christmas which is always good.

Two lucky door prize winners each won 4 hand stamped cards and envelopes, and a certificate for a free class for themselves and 3 friends.  Congratulations Marlayne and Linda!

A big thanks to everyone who came out today to support our local vendors as we join our Legion in support of our local branch.  There were a lot of great prizes donated with all proceeds from the raffle sales as well as the proceeds from the vendor table rentals are to be donated to the homeless veterans fund.  I'm so glad that I was able to be part of this day. It is a sad reality that such a fund is necessary but I'm glad to contribute.  There are plans to hold another event in March of next year  which is fabulous news!!

I took a pile of pictures overnight of different cards as I went through making them - unfortunately my camera is in the car at the moment, but I will post them over the next few days.. lot of different designs in multiples and in some cases different takes on designs.  I just love how you can make the exact same card completely different by changing a ribbon or embellishment, or changing the color choice and voila two very similar yet not completely different cards..

I'm having a lot of fun with that..  jumping out of my comfort zone a little and experimenting with colors and combinations I wouldn't normally gravitate towards.     Now that the craft show is behind me I'll be working on the December newsletter - though most of the December news was in the November newsletter a little early - I'd also like to send out some sneak peaks and hints from our upcoming January classes and specials.

I apologize to anyone who's been emailing me lately and not getting answers in a timely manner,  Apparently our ISP has dubbed our ip address as a spammer this week and did a lock down and it's a time release to get out of it.  Really odd since I haven't really been on the computer much this week -  all the virus scanners have been updated however and I'm at a loss.  Heard today that someone else up the block from us had the same trouble and it seems funny that all of this happens just after we have a few major outages and finally get back online..    In any case - if in doubt - give me a call..    :)

On the agenda this week  my Calendar for late December and January leading into our New occasions mini and Sale-a-Bration!  If you have a date in mind please let me know soon so that I can put your name on it..

Chat soon ..

Announcing New Cyber Club -

Level 1 Hostess Set "Afterthoughts"  - Order via my website Dec 1 - 31st to Win!
As a child,  I always thought that somehow our family should convert and celebrate the US holiday, so that I could escape having Thanksgiving dinner on my birthday weekend.  Turkey was (well is) my Dad's favorite dinner though, we celebrated my birthday and turkey days right along side each other for many years.
For what it's worth, we also celebrated Christmas in July at our Cultas Lake campsite, and Thanksgiving in November at Dad's campsite in Birch Bay, WA in later years.  You've never cooked a turkey til you've tried to cook a turkey in a trailer or motorhome oven that isn't big enough to change your mind!  It's a challenge, let me tell you!  :)

In honour of the US Thanksgiving Holiday, many US based sites celebrated Black Friday, and are celebrating Cyber Monday today.  I thought that I'd take this opportunity to launch my new Cyber Club.

  • Do you love Stampin' Up! Products?
  • Do you love those Hostess Sets, but no time or room to host a party?
  • Do you like to order your supplies online?
  • Do you like to get something for free?
Does this sound like you?  Let me help you!

Option I - Host a Catalog Party -

Let me help you organize a catalog party where you can share the catalog with your friends and family and accept orders on your behalf.  These orders would be submitted to me by phone or e-mail so that I can keep your orders together and ensure you get the hostess benefits for all orders from your party.

I take care of all of the arrangements, and calculating - all you have to do is share the catalogs and website link with your friends and family, then choose your free products and hostess stamp set.  SO Easy!

Option II - No Commitment Cyber Club

  • Place an order of $40 or more through my online website (before tax and shipping).  This automatically enters you to win the Hostess Stamp Set of the month!
  • Order More than once during the month, get more than one entry.
  • There is no monthly commitment to join this club, all you have to do is order Stampin' Up! merchandise through my site.
  • At the end of each month there will be a random drawing from all online orders placed for the Hostess Stamp Set of the Month.
  • The Hostess Set that is up for Grabs will be posted at the beginning of each month so all participants will know ahead of time what set they are trying for.
This offer valid only through your Stampin' Up! Consultant Tammy Wilson and cannot be transferred to another consultant.  For more information send e-mail to iscrapnstamp@gmail.com

Carryover Items - Not in Our Current Catalog but Still Available..

With our US friends and family celebrating Thanksgiving today, and the holiday season well on its way I find myself thinking of the variety of holidays celebrated at this time of year.  In particular, of a couple of very special friends who celebrate Hanukkah rather than Christmas, but always remember to acknowledge our holiday.

We in turn have always made a point to wish a Happy Hanukkah in return.  After all the important part of the message - at least in my mind - isn't to create a pomp and circumstance around our differences in religion or 'chosen' holidays, but rather to wish our friends and family well all year round, but especially during the holidays.

In any case, in looking for some other resources this morning, I came across the attached document of carry over items that are no longer in our catalog but are still available.  I thought I'd share it here today for anyone that might be interested.

If you'd like to set up an appointment to play or need help mounting your stamps, or on a particular technique let me know, and I'll do my best to help.   Is there something you'd like to see featured in an upcoming class or a workshop for your friends?  Let me know!  iscrapnstamp @ gmail.com  (without the spaces)

Happy Holidays!

~ Tammy
