Well Hello Again I must be going...

I set out with my blog to post daily, and then decided that even if I managed to post a few times a week that would be OK with me.  Well I've learned over time that the best way to jinx yourself is often to announce your plan.  For me this week it was telling my teddy bear that I was absolutely not going anywhere that day that I had a list of things that I wanted to get done.  I'd gotten too much of the heat the day before and the idea of staying home suited me just fine.  Sounds good?  Sure!  Did it happen? Oh of COURSE NOT!
My hubby's Mom called and wanted me to come over, which was originally the plan but I'd made the executive decision to stay home and catch up.  In any case, I decided I'd go over and lend a hand and get things done - be home by early afternoon and get cracking on *my* list which included working on my swap cards, cleaning a reptile cage and other assorted "to do's"..

What actually happened wasn't anywhere close to that..

Upon arrival, I climbed the few short steps from the garage to go into the house. That last stair is a bit of a jump up and I always put my braced leg up first - this was no exception - normally I use the railing to help boost myself that little bit to get up over the threshold.  Normally that works..  this time however, I inadvertantly missed the railing but didn't miss the cement floor and connected full force on it by way of my arm and shoulder.

Given my still too recent almost year long "vacation" in hospital, I did NOT want to go to the hospital.  I had been able to sit up and I felt ok (though sore).  I couldn't however muster enough strength to actually get myself up off the floor.  Thank goodness for awesome neighbors; a friend of mine in-laws came in with a friend and had me back on my feet in only moments.

An X-ray Tuesday revealed that I've cracked a rib, so I'm on limited function as far as lifting and lugging for the next several weeks.  I'm so lucky that my teddybear doesn't mind carrying my ScrapNStamp bags cause those can get HEAVY!
I am aware that I had begun promoting a Christmas in July event that ended up getting forgotten in the shufffle and I'm sorry about that.  I am working on a promotion to make up for that.

In the meantime, I'm working on my Swap Cards for 3 Wedding and Anniversary Card Swaps.  I'll try to share those pictures here over the weekend.  Would you like to receive a copy of each of my entries to the swap?  Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite thing about a wedding Celebration is and I'll draw someone to win!

Thanks to those of you who have e-mailed wondering where I am - it's great to know that you guys notice when I am "missing"..  :)

I'm working on setting up a Craft & Vendor Fair in Cardinal for Oct 1st with all proceeds going to benefit the Food for All Food Bank for more info Email me!
We are still looking for 3 members for a Friday night Stamper's Club, and 4 members for a Tuesday morning Scrapbooker's Club -  Are you interested?  E-mail me for more info..

New Catalog - New Hostess Benefits Package. Check It Out!

I'm a creature of habit - there I said it.  I have to admit that when I first heard that the hostess benefits were changing with the new catalog I was not a happy camper.

I wasn't sure how this new format was going to be better than what we already had.  I guess we get used to the way things are and change couldn't possibly be a good thing - boy was *I* wrong!

I've attached the chart here for your convenience..

As you can see when your order, (personal, club or workshop orders all count) reaches a base order amount of $200, you now get $35 in hostess dollars.  With those dollars you can purchase from a selection of specially priced Hostess items, or you can buy any item in the catalog.  How great is THAT?   For those of you that order often and perhaps have all of the hostess items that you might like, that could certainly go a long way towards working on that growing wish list we all have..

When your order reaches a  total sales of $525.00 (Before tax and shipping) you receive $90 in hostess dollars PLUS you will also earn the option of purchasing one item of your choice at 50% off!  What a great way to get some of the larger tools and toys on your list !!

Would you like to invite a few friends over for a workshop, and enjoy the benefits?  This is also an excellent time to join a Stamper's Club or Scrapper's Club!

Let me know how I can help! I have several dates available in July and August.  Check with me to book your preferred date before someone or something else gets booked in your spot!

Stampin' Up! Not just Scrapbooking and Rubber Stamping..

Isn't this brooch lovely?  What would you say if I told you that it was made with Stampin' Up! Fabric, and one of our exclusive Big Shot Bigz Dies?

This brooch was featured on "So Shelli", a blog put out by Stampin' Up! founder and CEO and I just couldn't wait to share it with you all.

I've made this particular flower in paper a number of times.  It's been stamped, sponged, distressed and otherwise "abused" in a dozen different ways to achieve whatever the look we were trying to achieve at the time.  Sometimes successful, other times not nearly so.  Up until now though I haven't tried running anything other than paper through my Big Shot but with the release of all of our new fabric, you know it was only a matter of time before some of the craftier among us decided to give it a whirl.

I'd actually been thrilled to see a fabric flower on a card recently, but it hadn't occurred to me to put a pin on it ~ though we did have a conversation recently about using fun foam to deck out a pair of flip flops..

I recently saw a quilt online that had been completely comprised of large Bigz flowers and appliqued.  It was beautiful, and amazing.  Don't you just love it when two crafts you love over-lap and you can use the same great tools for both of them?  I know, *I* do!

I just love to share ideas like this that highlight the diversity of Stampin' Up! and all of our offerings.  From Stamps, Paper and Ink,  to Decor Elements, and a huge variety of ingredients to make all of your Uniquely personal gifts come to light.  No experience required, just add a little imagination.

For anyone who might like to see how Shelli made this flower, please visit her site where she gives a detailed explanation and photos of how her creation was made.  If you decide to re-create this flower, I'd love to see how yours turned out.  Feel free to leave a comment here with a link to your creation.

Until Next time..

Don't just think it, Ink It!  :)

Happy 4th to Our US Friends and Family! *MDS Share*

First of all let me send a big shout out to all of our friends and family in the US today, who are celebrating their 4th of July!

I wanted to start off this week by sharing something new I created just this morning with our My Digital Studio.  It was so quick and easy that I'm almost ashamed to admit that I've had the software for over a year and haven't really taken the time to play with it much. This page came together so effortlessly that it almost created itself.  I can see many more pages done this way to be able to share with family and friends via e-mail - though for album use, I'd be more apt to hybridize them and add buttons to the flower centres to add a little bit of Pizazz.

This particular page features one of my favorite photos of the 3 little bears, as we have always called them.  In this photo they were only 2, 4 and 5..  Several lifetimes of "stuff" have flown by since then but it hardly seems like it was so long ago..   Time flies, right?

I still have some room in my Midnight Crop for this Friday night.  Let me know if we can save you a spot!

Hope that you are enjoying this Sunny Monday, wherever you are!
