Product Feature of the Week - Simply Adorned

Our Simply Adorned line beautifully combines the best of two worlds: stamping and jewelry! We designed our Simply Adorned charms to hold a creation you design yourself, making your jewelry truly unique.
Simply Adorned charms are lockets--they open up so you can insert your custom stamped image. The Charming stamp set, along with Rub-Ons, glitter, ribbons, and other embellishments, can help you create your unique charm insert. And don't forget that you can embellish the chains with ribbon, felt flowers . . . the possibilities are endless! The frame surrounds tempered beveled glass on the front and flat glass on the back. Because there's glass on both sides of the charm, you can display an image on one side or both. You can create a custom heirloom piece that you'll never want to change, or you can swap artwork in and out, depending on your mood and your wardrobe.
And although we designed Simply Adorned charms to be jewelry, they also make delightful key chains or Christmas tree ornaments. Insert a stamped image or photo of your loved ones, tie a ribbon through the clasp, and you're done!
Paper-crafters and noncrafters alike--will love the look of Simply Adorned and appreciate how easy it is to create custom jewelry. When you wear your own Simply Adorned necklace with artwork you created yourself, be prepared for questions about where you got it!
Our Simply Adorned line includes nickel-plated charms in a variety of sizes, anodized stainless steel chains in two lengths, a bracelet, and a new line of baubles!
FAQs
Q: What size are the charms?
A: The charms are available in five different sizes:
  • Square charms
    • 5/8" x 5/8"
    • 1" x 1"
  • Rectangle charms
    • 1" x 1-1/4"
    • 1-1/2" x 2"
  • Circle charm: 5/8"
The size listed refers to the charm insert; the metal frame around the insert is slightly larger. You can use the included insert as a template to create the perfect-sized piece of artwork for your frame. It is important that your insert matches the insert template exactly. The hinge on your charm can break if your insert is too large and overlaps onto the frame.
Q: Is the toggle clasp meant to be worn in the front or the back?
A: Our stainless steel chain features a toggle clasp and includes an exclusive Stampin' Up! charm identifier. The beautiful leaf charm is designed to be worn on the front to enhance the overall design of the necklace, or worn on the back for a simpler look.
Q: What materials are used to make Simply Adorned jewelry?
A: The charms are nickel-plated zinc alloy with tempered beveled glass on the front, and tempered flat glass in the back. The chains are anodized stainless steel with a nickel-plated zinc alloy charm and toggle.
Q: How do I clean my charm?
A: Use clean water and a cotton applicator to clean the jewelry surface. Do not use alcohol or other chemicals to clean your jewelry as they will damage the finish.
Q: How many layers can I fit inside the charm?
A: The number of layers that fit inside each charm depends on the type of materials used. The space in the charm is 2 mm; as card stock, Designer Series paper, ribbon, and adhesives all differ in thickness, it is difficult to specify the number of layers that will fit inside. It is important to remember that you can break the hinge on your charm if your inserts are too thick. Never force the charm closed. If the charm does not close easily, remove a layer or two from your insert and try again.
Q: How is the jewelry packaged?
A: Each piece comes in a Chocolate Chip box (box for charms: 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" x 1"; box for chains: 9-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1").
Q: What are Simply Adorned Baubles?
A: Our Simply Adorned Baubles add a bit of bling to any bracelet, charm, or chain-or to cards and other projects, as well! Baubles feature a lobster clasp and come in Black Crystal, Clear Crystal, Pink Crystal, and Vanilla Pearl. Crystals are approximately 5/8" and the pearl is approximately 1/2".

Stampin' Up! Ribbon, Buttons and Brads Product Samplers in Canada

I am happy to now offer you product samplers from the 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

I would like to also offer thanks to my good friend and colleague Jenn who gave me permission to make use of her brain power since she'd already worked out the measurements and prices for these packages. She is one of my best friends, and as luck would have it she is also my immediate up-line - I am a lucky lucky woman. :)

Sampler packs are a great way to get a variety of new ribbons, buttons, and brads without having to buy all of them yourself.  We recognize that this isn't something that every budget can handle - so allow me to take the stress out of it for you, and give your creative budget a little more wiggle room.

I will order the items and package them up for you.  Much like our Stampers Clubs and Scrappers Clubs, you are essentially sharing the purchase price
of the sampler with 3 other people.  You get to sample everything, and when you are ready you can come back to buy those things that you loved the most.  What a great way to save a little $$ and get a great variety of product to play with at the same time.

. All sampler orders must be paid in advance via EMT (preferred), PayPal, cash or personal cheque. Please allow two weeks for shipping and packaging.

Prices below are for pick up at my home in Cardinal. Please add $3 extra for delivery within Cardinal or Brockville. If you need the items mailed anywhere else within Canada, I will contact you with the cost of shipping. Please feel free to email me with any questions!  If you are attending my monthly crops here in Cardinal, I can bring them with me! (next crop Oct 3).

Don't forget when ordering to let me know which sampler(s) you are ordering..

A big day in the world of ME :)

I don't often take the time to post a personal blog in the midst of my Scrap and Stamping Life.. but sometimes you just have to TOOT when you have the chance..

Today is a huge milestone in the world of ME.  Hard to believe that 16 years ago today, I was lying in a hospital bed being told that I had cancer, and that I'd almost died during surgery.  In some ways that seems like lifetimes ago and in others it was only yesterday.

Even now when all is said and done, I consider that time period in my life somewhat of a mixed blessing.  As crazy as it sounds, I can still think of many good things that came from my having had cancer.  To say that it was a real eye opener is an understatement.  It really is those times of utter chaos in crisis that you truly realize your own strength, and who your friends really are.  This was no exception.

The last 16 years have been a whirlwind of medical drama and chaos at different times, and though there were many times when I have questioned the phrase "God never gives us any more than we can handle" wondering just what the hell I was being trained for.  Though when all is said and done. I'm still standing and more importantly I have earned the honor of standing up to proudly say that I am one of the fortunate ones who came face to face with the evil C, and won.  I am all too aware of how easily it could have turned out differently.  If not then, then one of the many trials and tribulations of my life as a guinea pig since.  I am painfully aware of how precious so many basic things are that most take for granted and I'm thankful for how far I have come.

Someone asked me this week what it was like having gone through chemo and cancer, and to be honest those weren't the memories I reflect on when I think about it.  Chemo wasn't fun,  the chemo after-effect drugs were nasty..   but the parts I tend to remember are the nurses on the 5th floor of the BC Cancer agency who somehow could make you smile even when you felt like death warmed over and reheated.

I'm also reminded of a few special friends who made some extra effort to remind a sad, bald friend that she was still valued and loved.  I keep thinking of how Jim and Matt brought in a Happy Meal pumpkin with a cheeseburger happy meal inside that I hung on my IV pole for the rest of my chemo treatment.  How Jim, Lisa and Paul came to kidnap me from the hospital to go out for a late night coffee for some much needed time with friends and of John, who left a cute stuffed bull dog in my room on the TV when they'd taken me for tests and he'd popped into visit.  I still have that Bulldog and after all these years I can't help but smile when I look at it.  From the first time I saw it I used to tease that I was going to steal it,  then the day he'd come to visit he decided he would leave it in my room because I would know without a doubt that he'd stopped by.   It worked.

Last (but not least)  I am so very thankful for my Dad who was often my biggest critic - so many mornings that I didn't feel like getting up during chemo and he'd rally to get me up and motivated to get on with the day.  He always said that any day that you get to wake up is a good day.  Many of them didn't feel so great, but you just didn't argue with Dad.. LOL   I have fond memories of Dad putting on my wig on a day when I didn't feel like wearing that scratchy itchy thing, and he put it on his head and said FINE if you won't wear it then I will!  My sister and I laughed ourselves silly and took a picture of him wearing it.  We almost got him a few dates that winter until people saw the cigar in his hand.  LOL

These days I have my teddy-bear and I have a few good friends, and a pretty good support system.  I've been fortunate that in amongst some of the medical nightmares I have survived that I've met some pretty awesome people, that have stuck out this crazy journey with me.  I know I had a little bit to do with it, but I couldn't have gotten this far without acknowledging some of the awesome friends, family and other special people I've met along the way.

Here's to 16 more bonus rounds around the Sun..    and kicking Cancer's ass!  :)

Stampin’ Up! September Newsletter - IScrapNStamp

Tammy J. Wilson – Sr. Associate      www.iscrapnstamp.stampinup.net
Check out my website for all upcoming classes, workshops and events.

It’s hard to believe that summer is already behind us, we must have blinked because one minute we were starting July and now here we are in September.  The kids are back to school and the schedules for extra-curricular activities, work and volunteer meetings have already begun to fill up all of the available white space on our calendars.  If your calendar is anything like mine, I’m finding that we’re often plotting 2 weeks to a month in advance in order to factor in our coveted playtime.  Don’t forget to take care of YOU while you’re out taking care of everyone and everything else.  You need some down time too!

Whether you’re new to Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and Paper Crafting or a seasoned veteran of the craft, I offer a variety of classes, workshops and crops for you.  Contact me to set up a time to come out and take a stroll through our current catalog, and a variety of our products.  Test out our Big Shot or My Digital Studio and learn how easy it is to create uniquely personal cards and gifts.

Our October Crop falls on October 3rd.  In Celebration of National Card Making Day (Oct 2) we will be offering some extra specials on Crop Day (stay tuned!).  As a special feature at this crop we are hosting a ScrapNStamp Yard sale.  For this crop only a $10 fee will buy you an additional table (in addition to your crop table).  It can be any items from your Scrapbooking, Rubber Stamping and paper crafting Stash – gently used items, new, and well loved items also.

Clean out your stash before the holidays - make a little cash to re-invest as you wish.
Can't make the October Event? Contact me and we'll see what we can work out for you :)
All Fees from the Yard Sale tables will be donated by me to the Cardinal Legion, Branch #105 to go towards their projects in the community.
I'd like to keep things fun and friendly - so let me get this out of the way - Other Demos are welcome to join in, but I ask that you refrain from bringing any current catalog items, or soliciting new customers at this event.
Space is limited, and spaces are filling quickly.  Please register your table early to avoid missing out.  Members of the public are welcome to come out to view demos held during the day, and to purchase from the various yard sales.  There is no admission fee.
Since our next Crop Day falls so early into October, I have decided to extend our September Crop special through to October.  Missed the last newsletter?  Well here’s the scoop!!
