Kit Bashing ~ Let's Break It Down.. *Updated*

This week we announced out new Ink-redible promotion and while I can simply tell you that it's a great deal I decided that I would SHOW you instead.

I tend to be a pretty visual person at the best of times so I got out my notepad and started my comparison..  when I was done, I found myself even more excited about it (if that's even possible!) and I couldn't wait to share it here with you.

So here goes..

Our demonstrator kit (aka the "I Want It All Kit") sells for $125.00 -  There is no shipping charge on the kit, and depending on where you live in Canada you only pay PST ~ If your province is on HST (like we are here in Ontario) we pay no tax on the kit.

Now comes the fun part ~ Customizing the kit ~ you choose up to $155.00 in products of your choice.

Whether you're a brand new ScrapNStamper or a veteran to the craft our customizable kit is a perfect fit!  You choose the items you need, not items that somebody else chose for you.

Have you been dreaming of owning our Big Shot Die Cutter?  For the purposes of this example I'm going to pretend we're shopping for a Big Shot Starter kit ~ So here's the breakdown for the Big Shot, a Die, and one embossing folder.

If you were to buy these items as a customer, here would be the breakdown.

$122.95
 $21.95
   $9.95
-----------
154.85

Add to that Shipping and Handing:  $15.48 and we're at $170.33

And Add Taxes.................................   $22.14

Your order comes to $192.47

In all honesty, as your demonstrator, I'd be strongly suggesting that you pick another die or two, or invite a friend to submit an order to bump your order total up to $200 before shipping and taxes so that you'll qualify for you hostess benefits.  (Minimum $35.00 at the 200.00 level).

Instead, if you bought this same collection as your $155.00 in the Demonstrator kit, you'd pay $125 - NO TAX (In Ontario) and NO SHIPPING charges.

You save $37.47 right off the bat!!

...  and that's before the addition of the 10-pack of Stamp pads (Value 64.95) that with tax and shipping come out to just over $80.00!  You cannot LOSE with this amazing deal!

You don't ever have to sell anything, and unless you choose to, you don't have to do another thing with your kit beyond taking it home and putting it away.  Nobody is going to make you share your toys!!

Let me add the caveat to that, that whether you choose to share your toys, or keep them all to yourself,  I am here to support you in your hobby or in your business in whatever way works best for YOU.

If you're thinking about buying the kit, and have more questions feel free to give me a shout.  If you know you want the kit you can either sign up via my website at your leisure,  or contact me for more personalized service.

But only until December 16th!!!

Let me know if I can be of any help!!

Thank-you for choosing me to be YOUR

demonstrator!

NEW HOSTESS SETS - Get 'em

With the new Holiday Catalog comes some new hostess-only offerings.  The two new stamp sets are available in both wood and clear mount varieties.  The first one is a cute set that I envision in Christmas gift tags.  It is called Christmas Wishes and only costs $13 for the clear mount version and $18 for the Wood Mount one.
The second one is called Mixed Medley.  The set coordinates with 2 punches – the new 1 1/4” scallop circle punch (also in the holiday catalog) and the 3/4” circle punch.  This one was among my first picks because it has year round images that can be used for a variety of occasions.  Cost for this one is just $12 for clear mount and $17 for the wood mount version. I have just ordered this one, and cannot wait to play with it!!

There is also a new digital offering -  Eventful Year Digital Ensemble Disc (128141) – Be ready for any holiday with designed pages, cards and candy wrappers!  20 designer templates, 42 piece stamp brush set, 15 sheets of Designer series paper, and 29 new embellishments.   For just $15 in Hostess Dollars!
If you’d like to get a closer look at the My Digital Studio and this Disc in particular let me know and we can set aside some for you to come out and have a look!  Try before you buy in my air conditioned (Gas Fireplace in winter) studio.  iScrapNstamp  ~ Where Scrap Happens and Play testing is encouraged.  Bring a friend and make it a play date!

If you like the hostess sets, you can get them a couple of ways.
1.  Join A Club!
I have several options for Hostess Clubs and Product Shares but perhaps the most popular is my ScrapNStamp Club!  A fabulous way to have fun and build your collection of toys, stampers and tools without breaking your budget.  Members commit to purchasing a set amount of product each month for a set period (usually $35 a month for 6 months – but I can do other options if there is interest ($50 for 4 months, $20 for 10 months etc).  During one of the 6 months you get to be the hostess and reap all of the benefits of having been a hostess. As an added bonus, you also get attendance at a special club night (crop or private class).  New Clubs are starting monthly, so please contact me if you’d like to join us, or if you have any questions.
All of my Club members receive an additional $5 discount on any other class, or crop that they attend with me outside of their particular club.  Each members also receives new catalogs, and mini catalogs FREE for the duration of their membership.  As well as early-bird offers, and specials especially for you.  My thanks for being a part of my ScrapNStamp family.
2.  Host a party!
Club nights don’t work for you?  Have a craft group or a few friends that you’d like to get together with?  I do in-home workshops to introduce you and your guests to the fabulous art of paper crafting.  Choose a Scrapbook party, a Stamping Party, My Digital Studio or a Big Shot party or speak to me about a particular theme you might like to run with.  At this time of year many are starting to think about Fall Birthdays and Christmas, Holiday and Hanukah cards.  Consider getting a group together to make cards for your wedding or baby shower.  Even the most “non-crafty” person get interested in making their own Christmas cards and your friends will appreciate that you hosted a party to teach them how easy it could be to make their own personalized gifts.
Invite 4 or more friends and I’ll bring the party to you ~ available in your house or mine.  Having trouble settling on a date to get everyone together?  Why not consider a Catalog party ~  You set the deadline, post to email friends, family and colleagues – share via social media networks. (Sorry Canada Only) and collect your orders ~ reap the rewards.
3.  Be your own party!
If you live far away or just don’t want to host an event, you can still qualify for hostess benefits by placing an order of at least $200 in product.  This is a popular option among my long-distance customers as well as some of my die hard regulars.  If your wish list is long and you have the wiggle room in the budget, why not splurge and get your toys and freebies all at once and get it done?  This is a popular option, not only for my long-distance customers, but also for some of my local folks too.  If your wish list is long, it’s a great way to get freebies while buying things you want. If you can swing it, why not spoil yourself all at once.  Of course you’re welcome to invite outside orders from family and friends to increase your spoilings.

Big Shot Teaser Card - Endless Possibilities!

I wanted to share with you today a card I put together for Mother's Day.  I'd been dying to play with my new punches and try out a couple of techniques I'd been reading about but life's been a little too crazy lately so I just haven't gotten there.

So when my hubby came in to my Crop on the weekend and asked me to make a Mother's Day card, I said SURE!  though not before teasing him that I wasn't making my own Mother's Day card! ..  LOLs

I started out pulling out a sheet of one of my favorite colors "Rich Razzleberry" and then realized that in pack-muling all of my gear to the hall we'd inadvertently left my Paper trimmer on the chair in the living room -- OOPS!

At that point I started looking through my tote bag since I normally keep a bag of extra card cuts from previous craft days on hand.  I found a number of cards already cut on whisper white, as well as some card fronts cut a little smaller than the card (also whisper white) - Not what was going on in my brain at the time, but I figured I'd work with it.

Of course on any normal day I'm usually the one who does the reminders for birthdays and other special events in our family, but for some reason this year making a card completely slipped my mind.  Maybe it was somewhat freudian - who knows.  My own mom hasn't been in my life for quite some time,  and I'd already taken care of my Dad - calling him to wish him a Happy Mother's Day has been tradition for many years.  I realized this year that this was his 30th Mother's Day as a single Dad - That's pretty impressive.  Last year I'd sent him a dozen long stemmed roses in blue - his favorite color.  The flower shop near his house will likely never forget me as any time I call now they comment on the blue roses..  in any case I digress..

So I punched out a plain heart in Rich Razzleberry and one in Real Red and laid them on the card - my intention was for one to represent my teddybear and one to represent me on a card for his Mom.  I hadn't brought any stamps beyond the brand new offerings from the new mini so I was kicking myself for that.

About that point I remembered a big shot technique I'd seen online somewhere over the last few weeks and had wanted to try.  I used my Top Note Die to cut on the background shape from a piece of In Color paper from the level one hostess set offerings and laid it on the piece of white cardstock - I liked how that looked so I glued it there.  Then came the lattice textured impressions embossing folder.   I love the way it makes the whole piece look like a piece of fabric.

Now at this point I could have used my Embosslit Scallop heart die for all 4 hearts, but I wanted to use my heart punch so I took the first two heart punches and laid them in the Sizzix polka dots embossing folder and ran them through the big shot. I decided that two hearts just weren't enough so I made two more and I wanted a different texture on them the scalloped heart of hearts was a big bigger and I didn't like how they worked together in this application so I punched out two more hearts and dropped them into the scallopped heart of hearts embosslit - the heart punch sat just inside the frame so I was able to emboss this different texture on the other two hearts.

After arranging them all on the page, I decided it needed "something"..  so I took a bright yellow piece of my scrap card stock (I think this piece was Crushed Curry) and used my triple layer punch popped up to make the centre piece.  Then added the pearl as a little bit of Bling.

To step it up, in hindsight I might have added a scalloped tag with a saying on the right hand corner but for today I liked it just the way it was.  I was also trying to prove a point to a friend who'd told me that she couldn't stamp so card making wasn't for her - that you didn't *have* to stamp to have fun making cards.  :)

I used the Scallopped heart of hearts sizzlit die to make this heart on in inside of the card, and borrowed the "With Love" saying from our new Mini Catalog Level 2 Hostess Set "Love & Care".

I find myself challenged daily in trying to decide which is my favorite stamp set, favorite tool, favorite die etc..   It's just MEAN to make me choose just one!!  I've loving the embossing folders though, and have started to collect a number more punches.  I really want to get more into punch art so the hunt is on.. :)

For what it's worth, my mother-in-law loved her Mother's Day card. That feeling of joy that comes when you give someone something you made with your own two hands will never get old..

Until Next Time.. I'll be hiding in the Crafty corner playing with my toys..  See you soon!
